A commonly asked question is, how do I take Zivolife? There are endless options thanks to Zivolife’s mild flavor profile and ability to blend easily with other flavors and textures. Suggestions and recipes below to help you get started.
- Mix in water and drink. We suggest 1 teaspoon Zivolife in 10 to 16oz water. Add to water to avoid powder getting stuck in the bottom. Stir or shake for best results.
- Add 1 teaspoon Zivolife to a glass of infused water e.g. lemon or other citrus; herbs such as fresh mint, basil, parsley, rosemary; fresh vegetables such as cucumber, celery; apple cider vinegar; fresh ginger root; cinnamon stick.
- Add Zivolife to fresh squeezed juice or smoothie blends.
- Add Zivolife to fruit, grain, yogurt smoothie bowls.
- Mix Zivolife with condiments to enhance the nutrient profile of salad dressing, dips, sauces.
- Stir Zivolife into hot or cold soup or bone broth.
- Add Zivolife to cooked or sprouted grains such as brown rice, quinoa, buckwheat, millet, wheatberries, barley.
Smoothie
- 1 cup liquid per person/serving: e.g. water, coconut water, milk, plant-based milk, kefir, juice, coffee (cold or iced)
- 1tbsp to ¼ cup thickener: e.g. nut butter, banana, yogurt, avocado, coconut pulp
- 1 to 2 cups frozen fruit, or mix of frozen fruit and leafy greens
- 1 tsp Zivolife per serving
- optional sweetener: pitted dates, honey, maple syrup
Blend liquid and leafy greens together first if using, add frozen fruit and thickener, blend again.
Smoothie bowl
For the base, blend
- 1 cup frozen fruit
- ½ sliced frozen banana, or 2 tsps chia seeds
- ¼ cup dairy or plant-based milk
- 1 tsp Zivolife
- optional sweetener: pitted dates, honey, maple syrup
To assemble
- pour blended base into a bowl
- arrange sliced fruit e.g. apple, banana, kiwi, orange, berries, mango, peach
- add your toppings! e.g. chopped nuts, seeds, nut butter, coconut, cacao nibs, bee pollen, granola.
Salad dressing basic recipe
- 3 parts oil to 1 part vinegar e.g. 6 tbsp olive oil, 2 tbsp red or white wine vinegar
- 1 tsp dijon mustard
- ¼ to ½ clove garlic peeled and finely chopped
- ½ to 1 tsp Zivolife
- pinch salt and pepper to taste
Whisk or shake to blend well, refrigerate or serve immediately tossed with salad greens.
Green hummus dip
- 1 can garbanzo beans, drained
- 1 clove garlic, peeled
- 1 tbsp tahini or creamy peanut butter
- Juice of 1 lemon (approx. 3 tbsp lemon juice)
- 1 tsp Zivolife
- pinch salt and pepper to taste
Add ingredients to food processor, blend. Scrape sides down. Add more lemon juice or water to slacken if needed. Serve with crunchy vegetables, crackers, warmed pita bread.
